Ok because P/T 4wheel is on regardless of whether it's 4H or 4LThe problem is either the bulb is burned out, the 4L switch in the tcase is either not functioning or there is a problem with the wiring to the switch or harness connector to the switch.
The part time is the indicator for 4WD on a non Rubi. Non rubis can’t indicate which version of 4WD their transfer case is currently in.Ok because P/T 4wheel is on regardless of whether it's 4H or 4L
But your staying it does come on with the Sahara? I know the same dashboard is used with all TJ's so wasn't sure if it depends on the model whether or not that light comes on. I did the cluster check and it didn't come on then either
Whats a good way to know if it's in 4L if I'm not climbing, like on the streetThe part time is the indicator for 4WD on a non Rubi. Non rubis can’t indicate which version of 4WD their transfer case is currently in.
Remember that you put it in 4low or look at the shifter position.Whats a good way to know if it's in 4L if I'm not climbing, like on the street
I know, it was just an example. I know I can see it go in 4L with my eyes, but if the dash light don't come on, but your right with the speedRemember that you put it in 4low or look at the shifter position.
4low makes the vehicle so slow that I don’t think you’re going to get it confused….
Shouldn’t be in 4WD on the street in general anyways.
The part time light is telling you you’re in 4WD (whether it be 4HI or 4LO) so that should be enough reminder to get out of it when you hit the road.I know, it was just an example. I know I can see it go in 4L with my eyes, but if the dash light don't come on, but your right with the speed
That's a no Brainer, I'm talking moving at idle speeds with no turning whatsoever. That's not going to cause damagePutting the t case in 4WD on the street is a good way to bind up and destroy the chain, gears and possibly the case.
1st Wrangler I've owned, all other 4x4 let you know your in L or HThe part time light is telling you you’re in 4WD (whether it be 4HI or 4LO) so that should be enough reminder to get out of it when you hit the road.

But whats strange is I can see the symbol if I use a flashlight with no dash lights, the symbol is thereMost do. But not non Rubi TJs or anything older.
It’s there because it’s a generic cluster that was used on later TJs and I believe the cluster was also shared with XJs and I’m pretty sure the AWD or full time 4WD XJs had the ability to tell what position the t-case was in, so they had indicators for it (4L, etc). But whats strange is I can see the symbol if I use a flashlight with no dash lights, the symbol is there
No... that's not going to cause any damage....That's a no Brainer, I'm talking moving at idle speeds with no turning whatsoever. That's not going to cause damage
