After a hiatus due to family death, coming back to my gear install.

Wondering if anyone has installed a Eaton E locker in a rubicon housing, and how you ran the wires.

Did you:

1. Enlarge the factor hole for the airline and run it through there
2. Drill a new hole
3. Just give up

Additionally, is there a best way to plug the factory locker sensor hole?

Use a 1/4" NPT plug from the hardware store plumbing dept.

For the wires, maybe use a reducer bushing instead for the bulkhead fitting. Drill it out, if needed.

Wouldn't a reducer bushing just make a hole smaller? There is a rubber plug on the wires that requires a 7/16" hole.

@BlueC - I saw you installed one of these, was it in a 44 housing? How did you run the wires?

I have a 35. I had to drill a hole, just under 1/2" IIRC, and used the supplied rubber bung with black RTV smeared around it for extra insurance. If the wires don't fit through the stock air line hole, I'd just drill it out, and seal it up like I did.

The instructions I read last night showed a smaller required hole with some size variation based on the thickness of the material.

Yea it's a big old rubber plug

Than how would a reducer bushing help me? The air fitting hole is ~1/4".

I need an "increaser" bushing (aka drill)

It was just a suggestion. You have the parts to measure and now you know what fits the sensor hole.
