A local kid managed to break his front 44 in half under his Rubi JKU. Posts up looking to see if anyone had one. I checked and said yes, I've got a near new take out from my buddy swapping in a Currie housing and I've got 800 in it. He indicates interest and wants to know what "800 in it means". It means that is what I need back out of it since I see no reason to lose money on something trying to help someone I don't know.
Got a pic? Sure, I'll get you one here in a bit. So I do.

He replies that since it is pretty much a rusty piece of shit and needs paint, he will only go 500.

the reply would have been........................ now it's 825 and includes 2 cans of semi gloss black.

Wow...those are garbage...as usable assemblies anyway. I'm sure the guts could help someone out, but damn...2600? Dude is on Crack
I can't see it, but from the sound of it, it sounds like a typical facesuck user.

I don't know what it is about Facebook and Craigslist, but some people are just plain greedy.

When my brother was moving out of Pasadena and I went to help him few weeks ago, we decided to just give away a good bit of the furniture in the apartment. Most of it was just basic stuff from Ikea and used for 3-4 years. In very good shape but still not really worth much.

We post the ad on Facebook and CL with good photos and saying free, no holding, first come first serve and cannot deliver.

First response - "I really need the couch and the dining table. Will you deliver to Arcadia?"

Second response - "why are you not charging any money? Is this a scam?"

Third response - "Can you steam clean the couch? If yes, I'll take it"

Ended up giving nearly all of it to a father and son pair. The son was starting school in a local college somewhere nearby and had just gotten an apartment. They came with a pick up truck right at the agreed time, loaded everything themselves, were humble and thankful and the dad bought us a pizza from a local chain when he came for the last items.

People, in general, suck. We live in town, and I put stuff i no longer need, but don't want to just throw away, on the curb. I've had better luck getting things to disappear if I put for sale, $5, than if it's got a sign that says "free."

What does that tell you about society...

Glad the furniture went to a good home in the end!

In another time, that would be so sad and newsworthy due to the low numbers of stupid folks. That is not true any more.

I suppose that perhaps there have always been this many stupid people, phones and the internet just make it easier for us to see it.

Wouldn't even then. Facesuck is blocked at my firewall. But that *is* a good illustration of yet another reason why I don't have a smartphone.
I have a perfectly mint iPhone 7 that I would be happy to mail down to you free. This way you can keep up with todays technology.

A smart phone has so many great features to them…….
A GPS chip so you can be tracked.
Easy access to social media, so you can post selfies while a the mall.
You can text and drive.
You can surf the web for porn while sitting on the toilet.
While at family gatherings you don’t have to speak with one another you can just have a text conversations.
You can zoom/FaceTime one another from the privacy of your home.

**** Sent from my smart phone while sitting on the toilet!!!!

No, it just tells you that people are fucking stupid.

What really frustrated me is the entitlement. I know you deal with this way more with your business in terms of returns or service when you already go beyond what most businesses would do.

I frequently get reminded of that George Carlin quote. It really is true.
