Rock Sliders / Rocker Guards Guide

...

Why not go with GR for those? Nothing truly unique to Savvy about those.. that I can see at least.

Because bolt pattern. I already have Savvy cut corners on there. And GR put the tailgate skin bolt holes in the wrong places.

You ended up with the genrights correct? What do you like/dislike about them?

I like them a lot. They fit very well and are ww2ww, something a lot of the options on the market are missing. My dislike was the price, with that said to me it was worth the cost to have a well made product that fits my need. My first thought was to make my own but I just didn't have the time to commit to it in the time frame I had, and ultimately the genright is better than I could do.

Did you do any modifying of the genrights?

I think you should wait for the Savvy’s. You’re too OCD to be happy with anything else. 😉

You right…. I wish you weren’t but you’re right. Now if only these stock rubicon “rock sliders” can keep my tub from being damaged while I wait (for who knows how long) on the savvy sliders

Edit:

They seem some what strong. Approx 1/8” thick Diamond plate, 5 bolts into torque boxes, 5 bolts into side of tub with nutserts. Maybe I’m actually ok for a while…?

Looks like you or a PO already bent the body mount ears.

I don't think that's enough protection. The strips of steel underneath are catching spots that could twist if caught on a rock.

Just be careful. Don't do anything iffy. There is some protection there, but it's not much.

If you land hard on them, they will bend and deform the tub. About all they are sort of good for is carefully placing on a rock and sliding.

Careful guys, you’re going to FOMO me into buying some today that aren’t savvy :p

Genright has free shipping

Thanks for the heads up

But I do prefer the JCRs a bit more simply from a cost perspective, but I know JMT had a decent list of mods that were needed.

JCR does have free shipping now but will charge you tax (some online companies don’t)

Genright has not charged me tax on my last two purchases within the last few months.

Just tried it, you are correct!

I know you said you usually get nutserts off Amazon. Would you be able to post a link? Don’t want to cheap out if I end up going the modify route
