Set it where you think it should be with the dots lined up.

It's not an interference engine...so you've got nothing to lose but a little "time." Pun intended.

So I turned crank over 360 put chain back on turn it over and at tdc number 1 marks don’t lineup they only line up at 6tdc

You weren't supposed to take the chain off.

yes but does anyone know why when the marks line up it’s in exhaust stroke and not compression is that. Normal for this engine
