Quadratec, what the hell?

...there will be a return to brick & mortar enterprises catering to buyers who are sick of getting burned and who demand on inspecting the merchandise before purchase. Some of you are old enough to remember the Sears or Montgomery Ward "Catalogue Store". We just might be heading back to that, and that would be OK by me.
As long as they have what I need in stock - which 9 times out of 10 they don't. Sears used to be fantastic, then they went to Hell in a handbasket, I have literally a dozen or more stories. Monkey Wards was usually cheaper than Sears - they didn't have everything that the latter had, but what they did have was in stock with better customer service towards the end. I have a circular saw from Monkey Wards that my dad bought, and I'm still using it. I also have several sewing machines they sold back in the 50s and earlier.

ive got a sears catalog table saw i bought for 20 bucks out of a storage unit its in great condition was only missing the fence
things so old there is no fining one :)
so i built one,
ive had 30 plus table saws in my life/career and this one is the quietest saw ive ever owned and now the only one i need and own

They use the term long COVID to discuss lingering health issues but you could use the term to discuss supply chain and business. The shift in buying habits the difficulty in getting people to show up work I think will continue to linger on for awhile longer.

There is not a truer statement than the one made here...^^^ :(

Covid doesn't explain the state of mail/internet order these days... The truth of the matter is any Joe Blow can go into business by calling himself something cool like "Quadratech", and set himself up as a third party drop shipper on the internet. All you need is a slick website. It's a lot easier and less expensive than actually having a warehouse, stocking goods, and providing customer service.

The third parties love it because they get paid up front, yet they're not the face of the transaction. As a result, there is no incentive to provide a quality (or complete) product... And that's If they're not outright lying about in-stock merchandise and even supplying product at all.

Hide and watch-- As internet commerce continues to unravel because of lazy and unscrupulous business practices, there will be a return to brick & mortar enterprises catering to buyers who are sick of getting burned and who demand on inspecting the merchandise before purchase. Some of you are old enough to remember the Sears or Montgomery Ward "Catalogue Store". We just might be heading back to that, and that would be OK by me.

Maybe, maybe not.
I just saw where some stores are giving refunds without having to return the item to compete with internet commerce.

Quadratec went downhill when the son took over the business. I have a few friends/shareholders that worked there for 25+ years, last I heard they are down $100M from last year.

Good morning,

I am very sorry to hear about all of the inconveniences you've faced with your Bump stop project thus far! While we do use third party shippers for certain items, you should have still received an email with tracking information from us, once we received the shipment confirmation from the manufacturer. Apparently, this was not the case in your situation. I apologize if our service did not meet your expectations, and appreciate you taking the time to share your concerns. I would certainly love to look further into this order for you, would you be able to send us a private message with that order number?

We deeply value your loyalty as one of our customers and hope you will have a better experience with us in the future.

Hope you have a great rest of your day!

I hate to use the tired old phrase but, when Covid hit they went downhill fast and hard. I used to defend them after buying thousands of dollars of stuff from them. I cannot stoop to buy even a measly bolt from them now.

Good afternoon,

I sincerely apologize for the experience you had, which has made you stray away from us! Yes, the COVID-19 pandemic significantly impacted our parts company, but we’ve been actively working to adapt and improve throughout the challenges. We faced supply chain disruptions, including delays in receiving parts and raw materials, as well as shipping issues that affected order fulfillment. While demand for some products slowed, especially as customers delayed repairs, we saw increased demand for essential maintenance parts. We also had to manage workforce availability, implementing health and safety measures that led to temporary staffing shortages. Despite these hurdles, we’ve been all the more focused on optimizing our stock levels and streamlining our shipping processes to reduce delays and better meet customer needs. I hope we deliver a better experience if presented with another chance to serve you in the future!

Please do not hesitate to reach out to us if there are any questions you may have!

Have a great rest of your day!
Ice
