Plug under center console

Putting my dash and center console back together after deep cleaning and putting in new carpet today. Does anyone know what this plug is for and where it plugs in to. It is connected to the passenger airbag wire.

Depending on the year of your Jeep it was probably for a very antiquated navigation system.

Factory option, plug was there for all models...newer TJ years.

Should be the backlight for the shift indicator on the auto trans models, otherwise it's just tucked under the console.

@brstruck , what colors are the wires? Do they and the plug match the FSM callout of Black and Orange?

As said--shift indicator for the auto transmission.

I reused mine to light up the air compressor gauge.
