Piss & Moan Table

Thank you, maybe?

Blaming everything on “them” is what they want you to do. When it’s “us vs them” people are easily manipulated into fear and anger. Fear and anger are powerful motivators. They want you motivated to vote to keep them in power.

Try looking at things outside of an “us vs them” mentality, you might find compassion, collaboration, and peace all come easier that way.
Compassion: a feeling of deep sympathy and sorrow for another who is stricken by misfortune, accompanied by a strong desire to alleviate the suffering.
Hence one of the many reasons I am a firefighter and have been for 35+ years
Collaboration: Working TOGETHER to produce something
I am more than willing to work with anyone who is not yelling at me, calling me juvenilistic names, or attempting to instigate violence against me or those I care about.
Peace: agreement between warring or antagonistic groups
Last I checked "they" are the antagonists, the ones perpetuating the violence, burning down businesses, churches, killing those they falsely proclaim to be protecting or protesting for.
No, I think you should realize the truth, the reality that there is most definitely a "us vs them". The "us" is Americans who value capitalism, freedom, opportunity for all those who are willing to toil to realize their dreams. Those who are not looking for some one to give them a hand out (most assuredly NOT to be confused with a hand up!!!!). The "them" is everyone who would see this country become a socialist society, where you and I pay 75% or more in taxes so that every child can attend college, so everyone has universal health care, so every one has a place to live, all of these things sound nice, don't they? Until you stop and think that however hard you work, you will never get ahead, you will always have the same life as the guy next door who does not work, who sits on his butt and does nothing all day. He will have the same things as you, the guy busting his ass, putting in 50-75 hours a week, running into burning houses to save the life of someone you do not even know. Being deployed to third world countries that embrace this socialist bull shit, risking your life to save their citizens because the socialist government stole all the "compassion" your capitalist government sent them.......
So tell me again, Lefty, how I should have an "open" mind and view things from your fucked up perspective?

Thank you, and good night

Sorry, I did not to mean to miss the P&M intention of this thread...........
Lets see.......... Northern Virginia has some of the worst drivers, but most are from Maryland...... and with the police not really enforcing the speed limit, my jeep and my old F350 typically look like they are standing still in the right lane doing the speed limit.....:p

We need to treat this thread like thanksgiving dinner. When we’re forced to set a plate for that whacko uncle, cousin, sister in law, etc. and break bread with them. Don’t start on politics....only leads to ruin!

Meanwhile after a perfect July it’s only rained 1/2” here in August.... and the crop is burning up.

I’m going back out to yell at the clouds.

I don't like fighting about politics. I am not a gambler. But if you think Trump will loose I will put up any amount of money you would like and we will Chris hold it. He will be able to give it to me after the election.

Good luck with your bet. He predicted Trump's first term.

Trump is a blowhard, pompous ass. A bulldog with no filter who takes crap from nobody. We need 10 of him in congress and 5 in the Senate just like him.

I hate it as a 37 year old. The soil at my house is basically tiny pieces of crushed granite that meshes together like concrete, which is actually nice for setting the posts but it SUCKS to dig the holes. I also have like 100 trees so there's not a posthole-sized patch of earth on the place that doesn't have half a dozen roots going through it.

You should try digging post holes in what used to be a mountain river bed... Your 6 to 8 inch diameter post hole turns into a 4 foot wide pit thanks the the Buick and Volkswagen sized rocks that lie about 6 inches under the topsoil!!!:rolleyes::rolleyes: Marking and digging post holes is like playing Russian Roulette!!

I thought once you hit bedrock you poured concrete.

Depends on where you live maybe. We are south of a creek that before they built the dam it would flood the town south of the creek, so north of the creek is really good soil but we are in rock heaven south of it.
You still have to dig to 3-4 inches to pour a nice foundation

I got curious and re read all the posts so far. I still have no idea what you're even disagreeing with. Not trying to pick a fight, but what is it you're on about?
As far as I can see it was *poof* "I'm Steve and I'm hot and bothered"

P.S. I'm just pissing and moaning.
P.S.......poof Steve, pissy Steve, probably Steve. please tell us what PS stands for!
