Piss & Moan Table

I stopped at a friends today. He just put a junkyard 4.0 in his XJ and was hooking up his trans cooling lines. He added an aftermarket trans cooler and had to T the line. All new tubing and 3/8” brass Ts. One of the connections kept leaking. He went through several clamps, he bought 4 Ts online so we switched those out and hose once and still the leak persisted. I finally had him give me one of the Ts and I filled it with water and blocked the ends. Sure enough it started leaking in the middle with no pressure applied. I checked 2 others and the same thing. POS Chinese internet crap at a “Good price”. Only choices in town are Lowes and HD. HD is closer but did not carry them. On to Lowes and they had them. They were 2-3 times thicker and heavier than the Chinese crap. Put them on and no leak. Waisted 2 hrs with this. On the bright side the beer was cold I gained some more brass scrap for recycling.
In the pictures you can see that the machining is not complete.

BTDT. Years back, it was also a brass Tee. Casting was porous, water just seeped through. Chinesium.

Im out here destroying the planet and needlessly putting miles on my bone stock 19 6.7 powered Ram (that I drive maybe once a month now) to get 1 module to reset.

Cleared a low boost code and the last module not to reset is the PM filter. Permanent low boost code is gone, but the PM filter is a bitch. 2 forced regens, 400+ miles, 19 warm ups, and registration is mail in only the end of the month.

Mail in takes about 90 days for the DMF Ca DMV to process. I need to 100% get out of here.

As Cartman says, "fuck fuckity fuck fuck fuck".

☹️

The irony. 😖

The tracking as of 9/27...

It's got a ways to go before it beats my personal record for USPS:
Goofiest USPS Route Ever.jpg

It got stuck in a loop between Oshkosh; Milwaukee; and Oak Creek, Wisconsin and took 17 delivery days to get to me. I saved that route because it's so hilarious (and I had to cut and paste in order to fit it in one jpg!)

It was more the fact that it's a 10mm wrench and it's gone missing than the actual timeline. That said, I still don't have the thing.

For dollar per miles shipped, my best deal happened just last week when an item I ordered from Tucson, AZ took the scenic route via Anchorage, AK for a few days before making it back to the lower 48 and on its way to me.

It's a joke at the moment, but I've got a funny feeling that I'm never going to see that wrench. 😀
Don't lose hope. Look at my post as your inspiration (I eventually received it). I will say, though, that it took some calls to USPS to put a trace on the package. If that's a hard-to-replace O.G. S-K wrench, it'd be worth a call or two. Don't be afraid to dig around for the local number for the post office in Hinckley, MN, where it originated. It's a small town, and small town post offices sometimes still have good customer service. They would care more about your package than the national USPS folks. (y)

I typically have good luck with the USPS, I know opinions vary wildly on them. My concern is that it left Philly and never arrived anywhere else, and that was 10 days ago. It is an OG S-K, not rare but not common either. I suspect I can find another on Ebay in a few weeks, if that. I actually purchased it as a backup...more irony... 😀

I recently ordered two 10mm sockets from different sellers on eBay. One of them disappeared enroute, the seller refunded me, and it STILL hasn't re-appeared... :D

If it re-appears, it will be in Memphis. You heard it here first.

For some reason, my money was on Anchorage. :sneaky:

On a somewhat serious note, based on what some consider acceptable packaging, I'm surprised more items don't get lost in the sauce. I received another item last week packed in what amounted to scotch taped origami made from a chunk of a Marie Callender's mac and cheese box. Clearly none of that shipping money was spent on packaging, unless that money bought the bastard his mac and cheese dinner. 😀

I’ve had several FedEX packages disappear off the face of the earth. Tracking just ends with left X facility. Original senders did send replacements. Also Amazon creates label and the item sits for up to 2 weeks before they ship it and I get my order 1-2 weeks latter.

Some of my farms are located on Illinois Rt 1, US Highway 52, and US Highway 41.
All I can say is it a festival of stupidity out there on the road.

Doesn’t matter even when you signal left and someone is 600’ behind they still pass you.

Route 41 is a divided highway we have very little incidents on it.

But oh boy 1&52 are a free for all.

Why oh why do people pass you on the left while you’re stopped and signaling?

During the day I normally won’t run the 4 way flashers and just use the turn signal. My theory is they’re buried in your ass feverishly trying to get around you and don’t notice the 4 way flashers going to just a turn signal. Nope that doesn’t work either.

I my driver already pinned a car under the hopper a couple years ago.

It fucking happens every day.

Death wish?

They have no wish to be part of the world around them , they thrive on being entertained and distracted to escape their lives . The phone , music , and typically living beyond their means is how they try to fill the void in their life. A semi and turn signal are so disconnected to everything they do. Just a thought but a large handful of ball bearing tossed out the drivers window just after the turn signal comes on might be a fun way to pass time waiting to turn.

I remember the days of turning while pulling a load of hay so I had no idea what was coming from behind and just hoping nobody was being that dumb.

My dad got hit by a passing party bus on a blind curve that was a no passing zone. Broke the tractor in half. Dad was sore for a while but no broken bones or anything.
