Phone Mount for TJ Dashboard - Quad Lock Solution

My phone bounces around a lot, falls out of the holder, is super expensive and doesn't work well when it is hot or cold.

It's the best one I have ever had.

I would never put up something in my windshield to distract my driving or to be trying to manipulate or look at while I'm driving. There are laws against it in many states. I've seen horrible accidents caused by distracted drivers. I also practice safe defensive driving, like keeping one car length for every 10 mph from the car in front of me. Most drivers seem to hate it when you practice safe defensive driving. This is also important during lane changes in case the car in front comes to a stop in busy traffic. I've seen cars under the rear end of the truck in front of them, with their roof sheared off. They were probably decapitated. I also don't stop right on the bumper of the car in front of me. I keep a safe distance in case they stall or breakdown and I have to go around them. I see people piled up on the freeway, stuck behind each other, because they don't know how to stop a safe distance. Then, some distracted driver comes along and chain reaction crashes them all, because none of them stopped a safe distance, so that they could safely switch lanes. It's a mess on these roads and many of the accidents are caused by distracted drivers. Sorry, I had to say it. Hopefully, it will save a life. Peace.

But you fail to see the problem: Its all about the PHOOOOOONNE!!! Don't criticize those who distract themselves behind the wheel - they will inform you in NO uncertain terms that they are the EXCEPTION to the rule and using their PHOOOOOONNE doesn't make them unsafe drivers! Then they'll cite multiple reasons why their actions are justified, and will call you a "hyper alert" driver.

I have one of these. It stayed on the last few wheeling trips. No vibes on road either. The mount is aluminum. They do make ram mount and mountain bike style mount bases that hard snap to the back of phone if you want more holding power. I run this mount in my daily and jeep now.

I ended up with this because it's one of the few cases with magnetic mounts that work for Samsung. Basically adds stronger magsafe to your phone.

I don't have phone mounts in my Jeeps to see them, it's to secure it in a known location should I need it. I use CarPlay in both Jeeps, for the navigation, and to stream music... I hardly even look at the dash screens, unless there's a complicated exchange I need to traverse coming up. Offroad is the same... I use GAIA or All Trails for mapping the offroad, including using the breadcrumb features, and both are CarPlay compatible.

Too many people worry about the Phone Police, PC Police, DEI Police, Pronoun police, Who gets to use the ladies restroom Police and a bunch of other Identity Police.

Me, I only ask one question:

This was our solution , the Hug Buddy . They work great for our situation because I have a co-pilot/navigator . I removed the airbag and used that area for a communication center . There used to be a set of Wilson Sleek cellphone cradle-boosters there , but technology changed and the were now useless . We found the Cell Buddies to take their place . On the hood where the rubber windshield pads were , we have short cellular antennas which used to be hooked up to the Wilson Sleeks . Now we connect them to a Cradle Point modem/router for WiFi in the Jeep . The Cradle Point gets cell service signal much better than a cellphone therefore keeping Internet in remote areas better than just a cellphone . The CB and Ham radio mic holders are strong magnets .

@John Cooper how is this holding up? I did the same thing and the vibrations from road corrugations, slamming on rocks, etc finally caused fatigue cracks of the plastic and the durn thing fell off. The '03+ tray isn't attached solidly and there is little support from the bezel.

Mine is still holding up. The tray started to break away, but gorilla glue took care of it. I haven't been easy on it, but did buy a backup Bezel just incase.
