"Pacing myself" build

The Lido mount that held my Ham radio faceplate to the dash decided to crumble to pieces. Guess the vibes were too much for it.

Guess it was time to move it to a better spot. Had to order the longer cable for the head unit, then cannibalize what was left of the Lido mount and put it here,

I actually like it better there. It feels much more secure from vibes as well. I was able to use the disconnect portion of the Lido mount so that I can still remove the faceplate easily if needed. I know, super exciting stuff, right?

So, been waiting to post this, as there were some issues with the top. Install was straightforward, but there was a fitment issue with the driver side window. The bottom plastic thingy would not line up with the contours of the tub.

I pulled so hard on it trying to line it up that I tore the stitching at the door surround.

A few emails to Mastertop were sent and some photos exchanged. They concluded that there was a fitment issue and would warranty the side window.
Took them about a month to get me a new side. The new one fit much better, not perfect, but acceptable for me.

How are you liking the 17's? I wound up getting 15x8 mammoths, still not sure if I'll go 33x10.5 or not

Can't be happier with how the combo rides. The Toyos balanced so nice. I'm still up in the air on the wheels, not because they are 17's , but just aesthetics. Thinking I should have went with silver instead of the darker gray.

Dang that looks good! Love those wheels!

With the hardtop now on for winter, I decided to try the Hothead's headliner to see if I can make things a bit more comfortable. Spent some time over the weekend and got the velcro strips installed, along with the sound deadening strips. Glue is suppose to cure for 48 hrs. before placing the headliners on.

It’s a nice upgrade, if you need a new rear window you could have @Alex01 help you with the rest of the install.

The door pull on my driver door broke, so I ordered these,

I don't like the logo on the pad, but I couldn't find a lot of choices, other than a new factory pull strap. I like having a arm rest when I'm cruising on the freeway.

I've seen some options for these and been considering. How do you like it so far?

I have one in the LJ hard top and it definitely helps. The real place I noticed the difference is in the Summer, with helping to keep the heat down. I ran the hardtop year round for two years and it was a huge improvement. The only thing I didn't like was how dark it made the cabin. That problem is solvable by adding better interior lighting, which I did.

So far I like them. Just wish it didn't have the stupid logo.

I'm interested in feedback on the headliner. It gets hot here and I have been thinking about this mod.

I may keep the hardtop on this summer just to see. You like hot? 105*+ here during the summer months, and 30*'s in the winter.

After a couple of commutes to and from work, I have to say there is a noticeable improvement in noise reduction. On surface roads it has a muffled affect on bumpy roads. Freeway speeds is muffled as well. The biggest improvement I noticed is enhanced stereo music quality. Matter of fact, I'm going to have to readjust some of my equalizer and bass settings. The proof will be in the summer to see if those velcro strips stay glued to the roof.

Mine has stayed on for the last 5 years with no problem I think you will be happy with it.
