"Pacing myself" build

I feel so old school running cable on my winch these days. I feel like I need to upgrade to synthetic to keep up with the times, but today I needed to be creative in a winch pull that would not have been kind to synthetic rope. I was doing a clean up at a neighborhood property and needed to pull a downed tree to hinder some squatter shenanigans from happening. It was a neglected/abandoned property. Some losers decided it was their personal dumping ground, so my wife and I cleaned up the garbage and did some preventative measures to keep the riffraff out. I ran cable to a tree and rigged up a snatch block to do a pull on a downed tree stump in order to block the area. The cable had to brush up against some deer brush, so I don't think synthetic rope would have faired well in that situation. I still like the idea of synthetic rope and the fact that it is a safer way of recovery, but I find myself using my winch for applications other than self recovery.

Self recovery? Your jeep is unstoppable from what I've seen. We have synthetic line for the trails if you need it. 😉

I say keep the cable. It seems to be working for what you use it for....why change. I still have cable in mine.

My sickness has progressed. Can't stop buying radios! I need professional help.

WTH is going on? How many radios do you need? 🤣

Check for some GMRS Anonymous programs around there.
I don't know. How many Jeep parts do you need? This will make 4 GMRS radios and 2 FRS radios to date. Oh, and a dual band HT on back order for when I get my Ham ticket. I won't mention how many antennas and other related accessories I've procured.

Question, there is a bulkhead plug on the firewall just to the right of the gas pedal, as you sit in the seat, about midway up the firewall. It's a fairly large plug, like 1.5"-2". Anyone know what that hole was used for that needed to be plugged by the factory?

Thanks @Alex01! I need to relocate my radio coax. I currently have it routed thru my main harness grommet, but it is too close to my 12 volt power wire to my stereo, so I'm getting some RF feedback in my stereo when I TX on the radio. Thought that would be a good place to route it. Just drill a hole in the plug and run the coax thru.
