Other hobbies / pastimes

Where do you source your tubes? I collect old radios(Am/Fm), and need a good source for them lol.
Mostly I have a large box of them that I've had since I was in High School - but eBay and just a good Google search for ones I don't have. I'm all out of "the all American five" for instance.

I do enjoy target shooting, though I’ve never been to a comp
Have a another “project” car, so she gets a lot of my free time
anmature pilot in training/aviation aficionado

HS School rn
Wanna fly helicopters for a living, cargo planes if that doesn’t work, maybe Mech engineering or welder as a last resort.

I have a couple old Peavey Amps that I love.... I also have a few boxes of tubes to keep them going.... my 5150 is my favorite amp for example.

Virtually ALL my hobbies were put on hold after our kids came along & my wife got sick. But, now she's doing better & my kids are old enough to get out in the world with me so my pastimes are gradually coming back. Mountain biking, rebuilding old motorcycles, golf, racing BMX to name a few. It's nice to be able to have them try new things as well. Some things take, some don't.

I race and restore vintage dirt bikes. I'm particularly fond of vintage euro bikes from the 60-70's, my favorites are German (Maico, Zundapp and Hercules/Sachs) and Spanish bikes (Ossa, Montesa, Bultaco). I'm also a big Hodaka fan. Attached are two of my favorite bikes which sit in my office.

I also regularly race mountain bikes (Enduro, XC and occasional road) and coach a kids MTB team. I have two boys and both race bikes. My oldest is a Pro racer and won a national enduro title two years ago. He is one of the top ranked U21 racers in the US. Ebikes are my new jam and I'm loving the ebike scene. I've done a few ebike races and they are a blast.

My downtime and late nite wrenching events are usually accompanied by New England IPA's and my 2 dogs (who also like NEIPA's).

Beautiful bikes!

I love the old dirt bikes. My first bike was a Hodaka.
I also had two pentons, a 175 and a 125. Both with KTM motors.

The 125 was in the first batch of KTM motored bikes imported to the states. It had the old style, slab sided, green tank, green side shield and air box cover ( the later models were orange).

Id still have the 125 if some Jackwad hadn’t stolen it.

Nightforce?

Yes go Dillion for your press man. They have not only awesome equipment, service is second to none.

I have about $1500 into my progressive 550. But I can load 9mm for practice for about $3 a box.
I have a Dillon 550 for reloading 9mm. I have not done much in the last year or two but have shot lots of USPSA and Steel Challenge. Shot the National Steel Challenge Match here in FL a few years ago.

Back to reloading though, I use a single stage press for precision loading 6.5 CM. I was about to get into long range this year when everything went to shit. I have the rifle and reloading skills need a scope and practice.

Mine was $1500 to my door then we bought another one for $1200 and they gave me $200 off so it was 2 for $2500.

Just got them to ride with the kids.
E-bikes are sweet. I got my wife one because she has a hard time keeping up physically, she can go everywhere with that thing. Me & the kids are huffing & puffing and she's just cruising up that hill, motor whining a bit, not breaking a sweat. I think hers was about $2300

I like telescopes and astronomy a lot. Currently I have a 127mm (about 4”) Orion, Maksutov-Cassegrain telescope. It uses a mirror In the back like a reflector telescope but also a Lens in the front with a small meniscus mirror that focus to the eyepiece. Its great for near objects like planets and the Moon. Not so for nebulas or deep space objects. It is very compact and easy to carry, thats one of the things i like the most about it. I also had a chance tu use the Arecibo Radio telescope to find galaxies with one of my profesors.

3D archery shoots are fun, you get to hike and practice for hunting season, we also have a indoor winter league at the club. I used to race mountain bikes and cyclocross bikes all over New England, kids came and I almost stopped, now it’s a hobby. Then there is the Jeep, motorcycle, kayak, fishing, beer, friends, and shooting.
