The wife bought her 1998 TJ Sport Hardtop Memorial Day Weekend 1998. It came with a Safari Top that extends to the top middle row bar. How do I install this top? Do I need some kind of header bar for it to attach the windshield and the Safari top together??

I looked at the information. I pulled out the Safari top / bikini top and I do not have that channel in the windshield. There is a gasket but it is not grooved like the instructions show.

Most likely you have a bikini top that installs via a "drill" in style header. The header stays mounted when the soft top is up. I am also guessing your bikini top has one edge that is thicker using a rope that is inserted into the header channel. If this is what you have, you would need to have that specific header to use that top and I can tell that Bestop (the original manufacturer) no longer makes this style of drill in header. The bikini tops they offer now use a thinner plastic piece in the bikini and the corresponding header channel will be too thin for the older rope style to work.

Ok, I have the original hard top, no soft top. Unsure why they wouldn't include the Safari top without the header bar installed. Trying to keep mah bald head from the sun.
