One of my best ever mods

When I began converting the Jeep from my wife's DD to a trail rig, the steering wheel needed attention. She had some kind of foam wrapper around it; it worked for her in the day, but not for me.

I found the right size leather cover and very carefully laced it on. I'm not any kind of good craftsman, but it worked. It was a bit loose, so I soaked it with water and left it to dry out in the high desert sun and heat. Bing! It sucked right in, very nice.

That’s one I thought I would use and absolutely never do. Lower gears give so much more control (I know, I know! Just get an auto…)

Man it amazes me how economical and easy heated seats are to do in these, especially with Bartacts…. Well worth it.

I had factory heated seats in my WJ. Never used them "on purpose". I can't ever remember getting into any vehicle and thinking, "Damn my ass is cold."

The heated seats have been nice on long cold drives with the top open.

I experimented with my switch placement knowing I would be doing a dash swap. A year later, the khaki dash and console are still there.
