Hey folks, planning on doing this swap myself.

Why do you want to swap? Is your 6-speed out or going out?

Have trouble getting it into 1st and reverse sometimes....notchy going into 2nd and 3rd. Reverse is a minor annoyance, but having trouble getting into 1st at a stop light is pretty aggravating.

Well, you might be having issues then. Have you tried double clutching to get it into gear? That might at least help you along until you get things fixed, however you decide to go about that.

Hey folks, planning on doing this swap myself. Anyone know if this is the type of bellhousing needed? Prices at Novak have gone up, like everything else, and I'd hate to pay close to $500 for a bellhousing. Thanks!

The Novak and AA bellhousings are special because they have accomodation for the 2005-2006 crankshaft position sensor, which is different and in a new location vs the 97-04. What you posted appears to be just a stock AX15/nv3550 bellhousing which would not have a mounting provision for the 05-06 crank sensor.

For me my Jeep lost reverse, and 2nd ish!! But upon investigating they do not make parts for this transmission and haven’t since 2011. So the swap makes sense.
