I recently picked up a NP 241 J to swap into my 97 Tj, I’m looking at this rear output flange and balancer and am curious if I could swap the balancer and flange for a 1310 yoke in order to use a longer driveshaft. I’m not concerned about not having by the balancer and am more looking to have as long aid a rear drive shaft as possible.

I have a speedo healer so the speedometer is not an issue, but finally can I reuse the 4wd shift indicator from my 231 or do I need a different switch and pigtail?

I swapped in a 1310 yoke on mine no issues without the balancer with no vibes. Make sure if you do you get the right yoke. The rubi case needs a special style yoke that I got from Tom Woods. Also the shift indicator is reversed so you need to use one off an obs chevy or something like that. There's tons of threads one the internet covering this swap with part numbers. Also I'm sure you know by now but worth mentioning that the shifter arm is pointed opposite of the 231 so you need to run a rubicon t case shifter or modify whatever you have to account for this. Its a great upgrade congrats!

Thank you I am very excited! I may look into the Tom Woods yoke, is this the yoke that has the oring cutout in it? I currently have the savvy 231 cable shifter so I am hoping I can call them and make that work.

The seal surface is different. I modified my savvy 231 cable shifter to work with my 241 with a tiny bit of cutting and welding.
