I don't want to sound gripey because I like what you guys do, but serious question....why 3/8"-24 for the shifter instead of something that would accept the stock shift knob? I bought my AX15 from you guys and cut off the threads and welded new ones on because I like a stock looking fake leather shift knob better than the aftermarket knobs that almost always SCREAM "aftermarket". I actually went with an 80s Toyota knob as a humorous reference to the Aisin transmission but the M12 knob was a lot easier to adapt to an M10x1.5 lever and if I ever decide to go back to the OE Jeep knob it'll go right on.
On a positive note, I really like that you used the OEM type bushings so it can be easily serviced.
By chance is the breather installed in such a way as to make it easy to install a barb fitting to run a breather hose up high?
There are a couple of reasons for that.
First, initially we were selling the AX15 to conversion customers almost exclusively. It wasn't selling much as a direct replacement at that time, so there wasn't a need for customers to reuse the factory knob.
Next, when it's used as a direct replacement, a lot of customers choose to go with their original stick rather than dealing with bending the new one to fit. Naturally, they can retain their factory knob in that situation.
In all honesty, you are the only person that has expressed concern about this to me. I think I saw you posted about it in another thread a while back. The Toyota knob sticks out in my mind.

But, in discussing with our owner last night, I think we should look at options to help customers like yourself retain their factory knob. It may be as simple as keeping a factory stick when replacing the transmission, or we may start offering a stick with factory threads. I'll be sure to update everyone when we work out a solution.
This right here is my main goal for being a member of the forums. This kind of discussion and insight from customers matters to us. It is easy to look at production costs, inventory part counts, etc. But if that starts to negatively impact the customer, we have to make a change. So thank you for the discussion, I truly appreciate it.
Now on the vent, you should be able to remove the existing vent and replace it with a nipple. It is mounted right on the plate of the shift tower as seen in the photo below. Depending on how much space you have between the body and trans, you may have to do a 90 degree nipple rather than straight but should still work.
