03 jeep Sahara, was fixing wiring issues at rear on new to me kids first car. Installing missing third brake light/spare tire holder. Had the P1495 evap code. While fixing damaged wires at rear noticed wires to leak detector pump were pretty bad. Repaired them, started jeep, checked voltage got 12. Something, turned off. cleared codes with blue driver went to start again and everything immediately shut off no power to dash like pcm fried. Reset via disconnecting battery, dash lights up at on, immediately cuts power at start. All fuses good. No previous ignition switch issues, battery reads 12.61 volts, connections tight started everytime before repairing wires, disconnected harness at leak detector pump. (Orange, white blue, white green) Any ideas?

Probably a short to ground someplace.

Have you downloaded your factory service manual from the resources section? Wiring diagrams are section 8w.

I might locate which plug on that 100 pin block under the driver's side dash connects the rear harness and just unplug it and see if it starts... although that might include fuel pump wiring.

Is the ODB Bluetooth dongle able to communicate with your PCM?

I was thinking a short to ground. I haven’t downloaded them but I will take a look at them. It seems as if the obd 2 reader is able to read it.

Well after looking at all the diagrams and watching more videos I saw one on YouTube where it said to zip tie the battery cables together and disconnect the pcm harness’s and let it sit overnight. While at it I checked that the starter was working and no short on the signal wires to it. Fired right up today. Glad it worked so I can move onto the other projects that this thing needs done to pass inspection.

Thanks for the input it helped
