Nightmare's Cheater Build

Just a heads-up that conventional forum wisdom states that we should only run Mopar O2 sensors in our TJs. Apparently, the 4.0 is finicky about this, and aftermarket sensors are problematic. There's even a thread on here somewhere strictly on this issue. Just wanted to mention that.

So after about 3 months of searching I thought I found a good candidate. It was an 04 LJ, but had 05 Rubicon Dana 44s installed. It had lift kit, long arm, 35" tires, armor, wench, etc. It had 80k miles and was only $16k. The wife Vetoed it.

Yours too!?? It was probably the wench vs the softop. My wife vetoes every wench i've ever tried to get. Very selfish, IMO.

Here's why your wife has vetoed every wench you've tried to get 😂...

I broke my arm in February snowboarding, so not much I can do right now.

Prior to the arm I found a NICE set of half doors with uppers up in Big Bear. I need to find a small spacer to raise the door up about 1/4". The factory paint is way too nice to try and adjust the hinges. At this point, I think I will try to vinyl wrap them. I might buy a heat gun and try it myself.

I also received my Door Wall Mount from OCR - Offroad Concepts

I was finally able to Test Fit my KC Flex Era 4 Lights.

I'm starting out with the Spot Beam on the A-Pilar and the Flood Beam on the Bumper.

They are a little bigger than I expected. I'm still waiting for some brackets to mount them using the front hook screws. I was also playing around with the width, I'm not sure if I want them lined up with the headlights, the hooks, or out a little further. Let me know what you think.

Has anyone installed some kind of plastic or vinyl under metal parts bolted to the factory paint? Specifically under the KC A-Pilar mounts.

Also, the antenna is rubbing on the passenger side light. I might be able to adjust the light a little bit.

In line with the headlights looks good imo. They look great. Looking forward to a night shot with all the lights on.

And I am super excited that I found a BRAND New (15 year old) Khaki Soft Top ! :cool:
I actually broke the orange seal on the factory packaging.

I spent the last couple of weeks looking everywhere I can think of for some Khaki Windows to match the top. So far no luck. I might be forced to run some black windows while I continue searching. If anyone has a lead on a nice set of Khaki Windows, please let me know.

I also picked up one of the Official Jeep Hard Top Removal Kits. They only make them for JK and JL, but I the T30 fits ours. The kit is MUCH smaller than I expected.

I have one of those little Jeep kits too. Handy as heck, but do yourself a favor and go get some GOOD bits. I broke my T40...I've actually broken nearly every T40 that has touched my jeep. I'm almost through replacing them now though.

Where on earth did you find a khaki soft too for an LJ?!? I had abandoned all hope.

You might try McMaster Carr for some plastic spacer washers for your door hinges. If not washers, try bushings, standoffs, or any other things with the right ID/OD to lift the doors up.

Myself, I'd find brass bushings, and trim them to length. That will carry the weight of the door, and last longer than plastic in my opinion.

Trying to install the Soft Top. It seems very tight already.

And those "New in the Paper" windows have a bunch of shit all over them. It wipes off, but you can still see the spots.
