Hello to all from the great state of Texas, Corpus Christi area.
I know absolutely nothing about Jeeps, and I’ve only driven one once in the late 90’s from Camp Lejeune to NY somewhere. So if there is anyone in CC I’d really appreciate if someone could tell me what I have, and the mods. Happy to compensate your time with beer.
Next door neighbor was moving, and mentioned he was thinking about selling the Jeep. My boy is 15 so I told him to go next door to check it out, and see if that would be ok for his first ride.
It’s been fun with the big brain kid teaching him the limited mechanical skills that I know. But thank goodness for YouTube. He’s great at trigonometry, calculus, whatever mathematical stuff, but turning a wrench hasn’t been his thing just yet.
We have done a lot of maintenance that needed to be done. Been a “I’m going to show you, I’m going to watch you, then you’ll do one on your own” kind of time.
Just got the Jeep back from a front end alignment, much better at driving since I was getting the wobble at 50, now the wobble doesn’t hit till 65. I guess we are both going to learn how to change tie rods and the rest.
Way better than my first ride. $250 1974 F-100 that was falling apart, rusted out, and no idea how any of the lights worked.
I’ve been on boards for almost 20 years. Mostly on some Star Wars costume boards. I’ve been in the 501st for 20 years. I know the rules, and have always appreciated the knowledge on boards.
