New radio time

I really like the logic of the Sony units. They are so easy and intuitive to navigate menus. Everything is right where you think it would be without weird audio names that certain companies use. My Sony XAV-AX6000 has wireless Apple CarPlay that works seamlessly and connects so quickly I hardly notice a delay. I keep looking at some cheaper wired Apple CarPlay units for my other rig, but I can’t stoop to a wired connection after enjoying the wireless so much. I like my phone in my pocket. YMMV.

My 2024 Ram has wireless, I'm pretty impressed with it. My phone rides in my back pocket most of the time.

You have good taste sir! Unlike @Zorba 🤣

Hey, wasn’t Dancing Zorba’s the name of that Greek restaurant in My Big Fat Greek Wedding? 😜

Got a link or brand name on that one?

It sells under the brand Inexaccessories (ASIN: B0D1VCRLPZ) on Amazon, but it is a repackaged product from China so you'll see it as a few different brands. I am assuming they are all the same. I was skeptical when I purchased it, but it has been great.

I'm still leaning toward the Jensen for the dual camera option, unless anyone has positive experience with the wolf box for front and rear cameras?

Previously in the Gladiator I had this as a dash cam (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C58H2CSP/?tag=wranglerorg-20,) not too sure I like the wolf box front/rear bumper cam's as dash cam's.

I can NOT drive with a phone in my pocket. Or a wallet in my back pocket.

Same. Part of this is to get a phone dash mount so I dont have to keep having it fall between the console and seat! and can use it for mapping. But I only want to have to take the center dash panel off once if possible.

One thing I learned during this process......taking that center panel off is 2 screws up top and pull. VERY easy, ha. 4 more and the radio slides out and all the wiring is exposed. Actually, the whole access part I thought would be daunting, was a lot easier than I thought, just my opinion.

I agree it shouldn't be that difficult but I'm expecting the plastic to be brittle so just don't want to brake anything. I've had the TJ panel off several times over the years and much of the clips have broken off, so if I can do it all at once and eliminate the need to really take it apart again unless necessary I would prefer that.

Same here. I put one of those stick-on magnets on the dash to the left of the radio, and the metal plate on the back of my phone. I was surprised that it holds on even during bouncy off-road trails. I'm also surprised the 3M sticky tape on the magnet has held up so well during our summer heat.
