New Factor 55 Snatch Block Pro

It’s interesting seeing money spent to develop and market a snatch block, after several years of pushing soft shackles and thimbles. After all the time spent pushing the safety of a solution that provides less mass for when it might become a projectile.

F55 seems to be consistently slow in their of clunky copying of effective designs that have been out in the wild for several years. They are slow because they do not actually care about thoughtful functional design, as evidenced by almost everything else they produce.

I don't understand your point. The soft shackle/thimble serve entirely different purposes than a snatch block. You want all of those in your recovery kit, and the lighter, the better. Factor 55's mis-steps in design aside, to me it makes perfect sense to develop a newer, light-weight snatch block to add to a product line that includes soft shackles and thimbles. That said, the TRE snatch block is what I have in my recovery kit (x2). As usual, Factor 55 went for form over function with their design, resulting in a bulkier, heavier product than necessary.

I appreciate the additional safety feature that Blaine designed into the TRE version. The TRE is lighter, better designed, and about half the cost.
