Novak Conversions Jeep Wrangler TJ engine mounts

Washington Naches / Funny Rocks

I'm hoping my Jeep is done by then but I thought I'd be ready for Memorial Day weekend too.
I can remember some of the trails but I haven't been on any trails since 2013.

I could act as a guide that weekend. We can talk about it.

I could offer you the passenger seat.
Hell, I'd even let you drive her a bit to feel Blaines craft at work...if not, what incentive could i offer? It would be Kool to hang w @Wildman and @JMT for the day...

Let's see if we can work something out.
I'd suggest the 676 (Shoestring) trail for a fun day run. Are we planning on camping? How many nights if we are? I can suggest camping areas also.

Well that would be awesome if we could put it together.
I personally would probably do a day run, then head home after we're done that day.
It's @JMT's program, and I would defer to him.
I'm just trying to invite myself...I'm just happy to get out and play...

The reason I ask is that we'd want to be on the trail NLT 9AM and would most likely be on the trail until 5-7 PM.

I don't sleep for crap. Normally sitting at my desk by 5:40 am most days.
I'd trailer the jeep that far, and I think I drove less than 2 hours to get to trail Jam so not too worried about the am arrival. You and JMT are on the East side. Where would we meet?

Damn.
If you guys were to camp, I might be forced to also.
Does sound like fun...

Once you and @JMT decide what you want to do I'll give you some meeting spots. I know a place to meet and park your truck & trailer.
I'm good for just a day trip or camp. JMT is 4+ hours away so he has the farthest.
You can come over Hwy 12 or Hwy 410.

@Wildman and @tombicon

I have two options:

1) I can come up Thursday and camp so Ill be ready Friday morning for the day. I can camp Friday night and go home Saturday.
2) I can come up Friday and camp so Ill be ready Saturday morning for the trail. I would need to drive back that night. I have work Sunday morning.

Option 1 is better for me, but I’m flexible.

My biggest hope is that Rick‘s Jeep is done and he can go along with us for a shakedown!

If given a choice, I would choose Friday as my day to go play. Hell, I might even leave Thursday night and camp...
Whatever you and @Wildman decide, I'll go along with it.
Make a plan and unless something catastrophic comes up, I'll be there.

Great! I’ll head up Thursday and camp and we can meet up then or Friday morning if you plan to drive up early.

Now I’ve got to figure out how to get my spare tire in the rear cargo area! 🤣

I'm running a 35", standard TJ lug pattern, on the tailgate. If you can't haul yours and are running 35", I'd share mine if needed.

Thanks so much! Hopefully I‘ll have It squared away by then.

1) An easy solution is to strap it down like @starkey480 did. I’m going to go shopping for 4 D-rings. I already have some straps and nutserts. Only drawback is it takes up quite a bit of space. I’ll have to pile my gear on top.
2) If I had time I could build a 10” high area for the tire to mount on top of. Then I could store tools and gear underneath.
3) Another option is to stand the tire on end up close to the front seats and secure it that way. Then I’d have room for gear. Drawback there is if I need the spare it will be a pain to get too.
4) Last option is to mount behind driver’s seat inline with the other tires so I can easily roll it out if I need it, kind of like the XJ’s have the spare mounted. 🧐

I think you guys should head for rocky saddle. Awesome trail. Anyway, have fun.

Rocky saddle used to be scary before they closed the drop, this is the aftermath of going down it. End over x2, then side over side 2.5. Before a tree stopped it.

Driver was shaken up and sore but OK

This setup would save a lot of space. The extra weight on driver side still didn’t bring the Jeep down on that side enough to level it out. Im still 3/4” high on the driver side. Also, this mounting solution wouldn’t inhibit my view since it’s right behind drivers seat. Now to sort out exactly how to secure it. I think tie into roll bar and some lower d rings should do the trick.

I might lean towards Thursday night camping too.
