Actual price with 5% BaT fee is $37.8k but agreed - cost in 2025 $$ to replicate that build would be much more. I know how much I spent on my from-new 2000 TJ on (then best in class) trail mods before intro of the 2003 Rubicon and subsequently as further mods deemed needed or something OEM broke. Adjusted for 2025 CPI inflation, makes the subject 2005 LJ a relative deal at the sold price. The high bid buyer seems might be a forum member? If so, cool if he/she chimes in.

I bought my current 2005 TJ Rubicon 6 weeks ago with desired previously installed trail-worthy mods, so as not to need to repeat that process. Mine is reasonably comparable, equipped with spendy aftermarket mods and no rust but not nearly as pristine as the subject LJ. But then, I didn't want one that I feared scratching or even denting, despite preference to avoid. I'm already $4k into project costs (including replacement tires, new PCM and OPDA), with a lot more deferred maintenance still ahead. As always as it seems, "when in doubt, just throw $$ at it"...

Edit: After reading through the entire build story on this LJ, it became clear mine isn't "reasonably comparable"...
