Seeking recommendations on MPG tracking App. But also have a side question. What do you look for to confirm/ feel comfortable that the app is only tracking what it needs from you on a personal privacy level to do its task. I like free but don’t mind paying for something so I can ditch the ads and not have my personal data marketed. I also not thinking this needs to be subscription level service. If that make sense.

Like to find a app that stores history and allows me add in other vehicle maintenance like tire rotation, oil changes and multiple cars. Apple platform needed.

This is not a troll post. There's absolutely no need for an app to track what you want to track. Keep this in the glove box / toolbox for MPG and use the notes section in the back of the owners manual for oil changes / tire rotations.

Take it one step further and input your MPG data into Excel if you want full customization of how the data is visualized.

I've been using Fuelly for years. Great App. Also nice feature is taking a picture of every single receipt ever. If you ever get bad gas, you need that proof.

GIves you plenty of stats too which is nice. Sure if you are a BOOMER you can totally write your logs on paper and hand calculate and then setup an excel spreadsheet.

But it's 2025.

You're missing the point. Its ALL about the PHOOOOOONNE!! Phoners are gonna phone, they have to justify the outrageous costs of the thing and use it for everything whether it makes sense to do so or not (usually not). ;) :D

I tracked with Fuelly for a while and then determined I didn't care anymore so I stopped.

Alright this turned out a little more humorous than expected. Looking at going old school…. Just hope I don’t hold up the line at the fuel island too long.

If they just have to use the phone, they can take a pic of the milage and pull it back up at the next fill up. I been doing that since I owned my 85 CJ-7. I haven't fixed fuel gauge yet. Then I can update my Excell spreadsheet at 3; 00 am when I wake up and cannot work on anything until daylight.
