OK we'll stop playing

No we haven't done this before

Now I'm really confused...

No. Drink coffee. Pretend your drill sergeant from the military is screaming at you. Set your alarm as a youtube video of one.

I was a sort of drill sergeant... Cadre for a NCO Academy.... I scream back...

Ducks are yellow

Not all of them

You're NO FUN....

First time for Moab & meeting the motley crew.

Therefore I'm clueless about which trails to choose. Looks like equally challenging trail choices a few of the days. And I have no clue to suggest alternatives. There's been some conversation about scenic stuff but I don't remember who.

Looking at your profile, you should be just fine on all trails depending on your skill level

If you don't want to do any trails listed on a day you can maybe put in "something scenic" in the other category and if someone else is doing a scenic one I can connect you?

Nice Trevor! Hilarious form.

Anyone else. I’m thinking of planning Moab Rim after Cliffhanger on Sunday. Assuming Cliffhanger is about 4 hours, Moab Rim is close by and about another 4 hours. If things go south on Cliffhanger (LOL) then obviously that will put Moab Rim out for the day. If you want to go, DM me.

Pretty sure I can drive and the build is up to it. It's my gumption that's depleted with longevity 😂. I frickin hate off camber shit, on a cliff no less.

Fuck it! I'll figure it out.

I'll bring parts 😆 & tools.

SCREAM directions on the radio or in person if I need a spotter - hearing is sub-par. TMI?
Pretty sure this crowd has more than one good spotter. As much as I like to go it solo I'm not too proud to ask.
And if I'm unsuccessful 2x on an obstacle, I'm likely to back off to save time and boredom for everyone else. Last thing I wanna do is hold up the show

I guess trail selections can be messed with later if needed.

I could maybe be down if I don't need to change my pants after cliffhanger

Might be worth declaring GMRS as the official communication of the non-event, and set channels for each group. Privacy codes are apparently too hard to use, so yay channel noise.

Codes don't provide privacy, they just don't allow you to hear a reply. You might know that already.

💯 They are poorly named, and it's good you mention this issue to remind everyone of the fact that "privacy codes" don't actually provide privacy.

The more fundamental problem is that most have no idea how to program the privacy codes. This makes it difficult for people to use their radios between different groups with codes. This is why we gave up on using them.

And then there is so much chatter/static out there that I end up turning my radio off because it drives me nuts

"Privacy" codes + Squelch should help, but no one here is looking to be into radios, we just want to communicate.

This is why the "HAM" hobby will die. As they're also very hostile to newbies with annoyances like these.
