Utah Moab in May 2025

Given that many of you are from Central/Eastern time zones it seems like we could get on trails early and either get more in or have more time after trails for any repairs needed.

And what about us Westerners? What is "early" for you? Last time I was there we'd meet at the market parking lot at 9AM to head to whatever trail we were doing for the day.

Depending on the length of trail or how many were planned that day we'd usually start the trail at 8am or 9am.

I'm up by 6 in whatever timezone I currently occupy, so I'm not a limiting factor.

For those staying in southern Moab we generally meet up at the Shell station for fuel to start the day and leave there about 7:30 to head to the trail and then shoot the shit until our designated start time.

Fuck you....

I'm up between then & 9 most days depending on when I finally fall asleep... But normally on wheeling trips I'm like a kid at Christmas and awake at the crack of dawn.

I'll have to figure out where that is.... I'm staying downtown...

I'm curious if either trifecta group on Tuesday has some people wanting to hit rusty nail along the way. That's one I've always wanted to hit but haven't had the chance to yet.

For those not staying in the south it makes more sense to meet up at the trailhead, and be ready to roll at the designated start time.

The reverse trifecta group would be the one to do it since that's the way Rusty nail should be run.

We'll figure it out I'm sure... Thanks to Jeff I've got a GPS & all the Moab trails & directions to them...

I will likely be up by 5am ready to go. The wife...not so much.

I know how that is.

I'm usually at my office about 6:30.

I like to get out on the trails earlier so we have more time to get a broken rig back to town, fix things if needed after the trail, explore the area, eat or do more trails.

It seems like in the past when we've stacked a bunch of trails up in a day that something happens and we can't get them all in.

Hopefully we can have stress free worry free wheeling and enjoy the trails.

So.. are most trailheads north or south of town? My camp is 5 min. south of the Shell. Trying to envision which way I'll be traveling in the mornings.

Pretty sure at least one more member is staying at Red Desert RV for me to shadow 😆.
"Where's the old guy - this time"?

It would be helpful if the trail schedule was finalized with meeting locations and departure times. 😉

I'm at Red Dessert Wed-Thursday nights, BTW.

Moab is pretty central. Since there's a few different rivers converging you have to split where to go. Basically the diagonals of the compass rose. If you're south of town, you're probably driving north for any specific access before "hubbing" out (other than elephant hill).
