Utah Moab in May 2025

Dirt roads. Chicken corners has a cool view of those salt ponds though

Fuckin terrible. Hope you like dust

These are fun. Hells is the hardest in this list but not actually "hard" IMO. Lots of line selection here.

Haven't been, but I believe it's fairly easy but no dirt road.

You'll be fine. Fun trail. Lots of ledges.

Don't know this one at all

I do a lot of dusty trails around my area, but fortunately I'm usually alone or leading 😅

Haha you might wanna go on a shakedown run first!

Yep I will probably want to do that on one of the days of a trail I am not gonna do - other than pritchett I want to ride along for that again!

You've already got a reservation for my passenger seat that day... I need a winch bitch too... And I expect some good videos..

French press! Easy and now that I have a stainless one it's easy to bring anywhere. Though I have always just gotten breakfast at the gas station every trip previous... But this year I have a microwave so who knows!

Man I'm too lazy.. I have a Keurig coffee maker... Haven't done french press in a long time.

I’ll bring a Keurig again this year since I’m in a cabin again. But a french press is the way when camping and probably better than the Keurig, but I’m lazy, too🤣

Yep I know it! I always end up running around between jeeps the whole trip anyways!! I'll get some good videos too.

Sheesh after all that work youd think you wouldn't be planning on winching 🤪

I'm a cheap ass mostly!! And with an electric kettle is pretty damn easy, just flip switch and dump water. Now that you mention it I think my cabin has a Keurig.... That might be nice for the trip. Maybe I'll get some bougie cups like cappuccino

I have done white rim road I think it's the same area, and if so you're right, very very beautiful and remote.
White Rim is Island in the Sky, Elephant Hill is the needles district. They're a ways away from each other but both great and remote.
It says 175mi round trip. That's a right squeeze on a TJ tank. Isn't there like a single gas pump out there somewhere with insane prices?

There is one right before you enter the park, and yes - the prices are insane. Maybe 50% or so more than I saw in town. The pumps are pretty cool though - originals from the 70s iirc 🤣.

Ahhh ok. They were next to each other on the permit page so I assumed very wrongly.

Beats running out of gas. I'd get some gas anyways even though I can probably do 175mi on one tank. Otherwise I'd be nervous the whole drive home

I HOPE I don't have to winch but... Better to plan for it and not need it... And I'm still a little rusty.. It's a perishable skill & I haven't been wheeling for over 10 years. And while on that shakedown run I really realized how much larger my Jeep is now than it used to be so I've got to relearn where everything is.

I've got a single cup in the motorhome. I switch over to a Keurig about 12 years ago because I was wasting half a pot of coffee most days.

True that's a good point with the width that's probably a huge difference. I notice it just going from jeep to truck on roads even.

You'll have a few days to build it all back up, pritchett probably won't be the first day!

The perks of Folgers 😉 you drink coffee with it or do you get the flavored cream ones?

Honestly... I drink instant coffee when I camp. I wonder how many coffee guys are laughing at my tastes

I'll be using one of those pour over styles. Once you have the water hot, you can make one cup at a time.

So fancy. The coffee shop in my college library made pour over, I remember it being good. Back when I was interested in good coffee. Are you an early morning guy? I normally wake up, brush teeth, and drive to gas station on these trips honestly lol.

Not cooking for myself is a staple of a good vacation - even if I'm eating gas station food 🤣

I used to be into the whole trying to make GREAT coffee. I had a camp stove espresso maker that I used to take with me everywhere... Used to make some great espresso too.
But YES I'm cool with gas station coffee & some breakfast food. Or even hitting McDonalds and getting a Bacon,Egg,Cheese McGridle & their coffee when I'm on vacation.

I'll be cooking at night. Get to try out my smoker & Blackstone gridle on this trip.

I need to get out my Moab book and see what trails I want to do... Obviously Pritchett is #1 on my list..

Nice! Blackstones seems cool. Flat tops are nice to cook on. Will they let you smoke meat at an RV park lol

Not always the best for me but once or twice during the trip is OK...

Sure. It's a pellet grill so it doesn't smoke that much really... And I've only seasoned the grill so far so this will be new for me. Since I'm there for 8 days I plan on getting most of my stuff out and setup so I can enjoy it.

Time to start defining a schedule? Put behind the rocks on 5/7 or 5/8?

Also are we doing rusty nail and no trifecta this year?

If you want to take a stab at the schedule feel free. We can tweak as necessary.

I was considering putting all the suggested trails into a poll and letting people vote on all the trails they want to do in order to gauge interest for those specific trails.
