Utah Moab in May 2025

Definitely shooting for Friday but not sure. Outside chance it'll be Thursday if I can get off the laptop and get my gear together.
A day or 2 on the trail would give me (and the guys with me) an idea of my skill level.
They say one of the bypasses is an "early out". Would have to play that by seat of the pants, wet or dry.
The bypass for White Knuckle is an early out for the trail. But this is what you are bypassing:
Yeah, little dude in the gray TShirt standing by the tall dude in gray. You can see Nashville’s LJ in the far background. Then Jeff trots over to me and Dave.
@Apparition, Jeff had just stopped videoing or he’d have the roll from the bottom. It looks like the guy went into N or something. Just started rolling back. Weird because he was almost at the top. Long way down. Scary moment. I was scared and put a strap on, but went right up.

First at Moab. First in that kind of terrain. I only fear the inclines, declines, and off-camber, the rest is cake.
Seriously, I've done a ton of BLM, USFS stuff in Nevada and Montana - muddy rocks, mud holes, creek crossing (mud not like the South), low range, chained-up in the snow & mud, hauled & drove snowcats & Skidoo to 8500'+ for years at work. Destination oriented, not just for the challenge, usually. Nothing like Moab where you search out the tough stuff. First Jeep was a new '75 CJ5.
I've rolled a CJ5, a 240Z, and a Yamaha Wolverine; now that's something to brag about.

Edit: after watching the video, Gatekeeper doesn't look terrible. But I know as well as anyone that video doesn't tell the real story.

Put me down for spicier. Initially I thought it was some kind of u-joint. I was like, I’m not eating that.
Man, I’m so pumped to get out of here and go do some wheelin’ and sight seeing. Leaving in two days. Can’t wait.
