Every. Fucking. One.
Not even going there.... I think the worst was Ft Ord..... That is in the states.. Now German was a whole other animal...
Pet peeve...actually more than a peeve, an absolute infuriating psychopathic desire to kill dumbasses who give a bldg number in meeting announcements.
Give me a street address dumbass! I know, Google maps doesn't have bases all mapped out, but all I need to do is find the street.
But, speaking of getting lost and impossible shit to find- did you know if you take a wrong turn you can drive right up to the launch pads on the base at Cape Canaveral?
Yup, takes em hours to come ask you what the fuck you're doing right on the launch pad! And then, theyre just like, "Ok, well don't mess with anything and don't get hurt, nobody ever comes out to check these things."![]()
I'm from way before Google or anything ONLINE... You had to SWAG it all the time.
Oh, I think I'm right around your age.
I know how to work an atlas and i know that every gas station in town used to have a map rack.
I still have a Thomas guide from every place I was stationed inconus.
But Google maps is a thing of beauty, especially here in Sicily!
Holy crap! Most of the "streets" look like abandoned alleyways!
The route Gmaps shows to our house takes you up a street with walls on both sides that is so narrow you have to fold the mirrors in on the Mini Cooper to squeeze through! The KTM fits fine and I'm pretty sure the neighbors love to hear it echoing off those walls!

I'd love to go back to Italy & visit Sicily... Only made it there once in the 6 years I was in Germany.
I've gotten rid of a lot of my stuff but still have way too much...
Remember the maps they gave you when you got to the RepoDepo? Of base and only had the key buildings highlighted?
Well, hit me up if you ever decide to come.
We've got a couple spare beds and we're only 20 minutes from the volcano.
As far as maps, Navy worked the same way, but at least they always highlighted the NEX, where you could get cheap booze!
