Military Memes

WAAAAAA.................WAAAAAAA...........................WA...................... A REAL Soldier would never complain !!

And I quote WILDMAN: "Would Gladly Do It All Over Again" A big thanks to WILDMAN & for his service 🇺🇲

OK, firstly, I was never a REAL Soldier, or any kind of Soldier; I was a Seaman in the US Navy and proud of it. Secondly, I wasn't complaining, I was merely relating an amusing anecdote (sorry, humorous story) to my friends on this Jeep site. And I actually meant it was another one of the joys. I was so happy I was not a soldier and was not stuck in some sh*t hole in SVN with a lot of people I didn't know who wanted to kill me. That adventure came later, but I was still in the Navy. BTW, what did you do in the war?

I was too on too many occasions...

At least the HVAC works, right? Nice and warm in the winter, cold AC in the summer?

Right?

A/C ??????? Is that Almost Considerate? Always Cummin? Asshole Comeith?

Fuuny thing to me I've got four colors in that pile,
BDU, DCU, ACU, and OCP. All in 14 years (of that pile)

Tell me it ain't so, Joe.

When I came in I admired the guys with two patches. There weren't that many left in 84.

Then came Desert Storm, and there were a few here and there. After GWOT, it seemed it was the rule rather than the exception.

Never once did I have any emotion other than respect and pride for those that had.

I've been hearing & seeing rumors about this... When I joined in 78 there were still Nam guys around but I'd say 30% or less. But Yes I looked up towards those guys... Had 2 SF guys in my unit in Germany who taught me a LOT about how to sneak & peak & kill silently.

Warfighter (03 or 04), I was night shift ADLNO for the 29th ID DTAC. After the AAR, we were released back to the hotel to prep for movement the next day.

Noon was my evening, so I started playing pool for drinks at the Double Tree. It was one of those times I was on, couldn't miss a shot. Had 14 bourbon and gingers before 1800, took a nap, got back up at 2100 and kept going.

Next morning I was as hungover as I have ever been in my life. Got sick in a planter that was semi-hidden on the tarmac. Hopped on a C130 for transit back home (it's late July) and had the most miserable flight in my life. Barely keeping my belly from exploding. Hot as a sumbitch. Jump seats aren't known for their comfort, and this was one time I needed comfort.

I thought it cool down when we got some altitude, but no.
