Corrupt as hell. Went to pick up a kid who got busted for peeing in an alley (where everyone else peed), had to pay his bail AND give the cop his shoes...brand new Nikes.

That cop actually ended up getting busted for running his own "jail" without permission.

Some folks will just never know the fun and exciting things seen by 19 year old service members. Amsterdam and Frankfurt in the late 70's were fun. Walking the red light district @ the young age of 18 was eye opening.
Then going on Thunder Runs in Korea could cause a headache the next few days.

One of my memories as a new squad leader was stopping by the barracks one night to find out one of my troops was in the stockade. So I went to pick him up. He was hog tied on the floor of his cell because he'd exposed himself to OIC whom happened to be a female 1st Lt.
So I signed for him and as we're walking outside I'm looking at him all covered in his own puke. I was like you're riding in the bed of my truck since you're not getting in the cab with me. It was about 32* outside and he didn't have a jacket but I think he was too drunk to really care.
