Well shit, I was actually interested in going Army when I enlisted back in 1969, but when they found out my parents were married they refused to take me . I did some cross training with a few of your groups back in the day. All Special Operators are respected in my book.

I was one of those guys who started out getting my packet ready for selection to become a snake eater and then had some issue that stopped me. Never applied again and always kicked myself in the butt for not doing it.
Lucked out and got to work with the Rangers at Ft Lewis. Had fun learning stuff while I worked on their rigs.

We had a squadron of those at Shaw AFB when I first got stationed here in ‘87. They were deactivated within a couple years though (along with a squadron of RF-4’s). It was a cool little plane.
