Just replaced the springs and shocks with H&R 52107 & Bilstein 5100 Combo, unfortunately mechanic shop ended up breaking one of the rear jounce bumper. So I am about to replace jounce bumpers on all four corners and considering MetalCloak DuroSpring set up.

There is not much information on these on the forums so if you are or have used them then please share the knowledge.

1) Are they really better then OEM and worth the price?

2) Can these be installed without removing springs?

Cheers.

Why does that matter?

New springs are already installed. I know OEM jounces can be squeezed through and installed without removing the springs. I am not sure if the Metalcloak jounces would squeez through, although I will consider them only if they are any better then OEM and more durable. They are somewhat similarly priced as OEM Mopar.

We have OEM jounces that are 25 years old still doing their job. And we know people are squeezing them through the installed spring and into the cup. I have done it, but it is less of a fight to remove the spring.

I agree, even on mine OEM jounces are still perfect, it’s just one got broken during the spring install. Looks like might just order the OEM. Although Chinese knockoffs ie. crown, omix etc are significantly cheaper than Mopar.

I have them on my TJ and bottom out on them all the time. They held up, and add some squish to at the end but are not really what I would call a game changer.

I have the Metalcloak jounce bumpers, going on 3 years now. Definitely a more mild/softer impact than the replacement OE style I had installed previously.

My Fox shocks are 0-2”. The rear suspension was a bit harsh on hitting anything, from around town driving, and above, speed wise. I could not realistically load enough weight in the back to stifle and counter the Foxes stiffness. These jounce bumpers, along with keeping my tool bags/ect loaded in the back masked most of that.

The front is an absolute dream. I almost could not ask for a better feel over most all road conditions. My drivetrain weight/springs/shocks/jounce bumpers all mesh extremely well, up there.

I installed them with my coil springs in place. I did use my floor jack and a 6”x8”x14” block of wood, in each corner of the Jeep, to lift the frame up and let the tire hang, in order to create more space between the coils.

Thanks a ton and good to know that these can also be installed with coil springs in place. Cheers.
