There’s oil on top of the shifter boot. It is a 2005 4.0 with a NSG370 6 speed manual. I don’t readily see a replacement boot or seals available. Is the only choice a replacement shift tower? Any other suggestions? Thanks!

My AX15 was leaking from the top and I discovered the bolts at the shifter mounting area were loose. I tightened them and that resolved the issue.

How long have you had it?

Personally, I’d clean it really well, and make sure the 4 (I think) Torx bolts are good and snug, right is tight.

And give it 2 months and see if it’s a serious leak and back.

I’m not familiar with a rebuild boot, and the NSG the shift tower is expensive because of all the detentes etc in the shifter.
The B&M is way more expensive but a great upgrade.

Also, if you get one, pay close attention to the year, because the Bend in that shift for the JK that had that trans for a long time and far more prevalent, it doesn’t have that same bend, and it’s a PITA that it fits different in the 05TJ.

Thanks! I haven’t had it long, six months or so. I noticed the oil last month when replacing the rubber floor pan cover. I cleaned up the trans boot at that time. I noticed it again this week when recovering wires on top of trans with split loom. I wonder if the vent tube is plugged, causing positive pressure in the case.

Make sure the breather is clear. If it is clogged the oil will push through that area when it heats up
