I recently got a retired mail jeep (05 Tj with a 4.0) and really want to put a manual trans in it I understand i need a pcm and all the parts but im curious if there is any small things im missing and if there’s anyone who’s ever done this before?

If there's nothing wrong with the auto and it's working ok I'd keep it. There's a lot to doing a conversion and many of us would consider converting to a manual transmission to be a downgrade... especially where offroading is concerned. I converted the other way, from a manual transmission to an automatic, for better tough trail and rock crawling performance.

well this jeep is my daily and I've always preferred manuals. Since this is my daily yes I plan to take it down some trails here and there but nothing too extreme. Honestly I think it would just be cool to have a Rhd jeep manual swapped. Never really see them and its something to pour my money into while I can also resell all of my old parts because they all work great, Im just more interested in manual cause its more fun for what I will use it for
