M/T tire recommendation

The tires in that last picture with my Nissan truck are Ground Hawgs. I had Toyo M/T's on my TJ before if that is what you're talking about.

No, you slipped in the Nissan picture before I could finish my post. I was talking about the tires you said were Toyos in the last picture of the 8 in that string.

What are those tires? They look aggressive.

I doubt that they are...

If you want aggressive but DOT then Interco is your best option. Ground Hawgs are great in the mud

The TSL SX or SX II are good tires. And so are the IRocks... And then of course the regular TSL tire is a good mud tire. You can get some of them in a radial design too.

Does Ground Hogs still exist? I know Gateway and the original Buckshot mudder are gone.

With a lightweight samurai I'm not surprised. I've never heard a single good review on them! 😂 They do sound cool (for a second) probably about like your Pro XS. Maybe they're good in serious mud, but I have no desire to be in the mud. Mud was fun when I was a kid, and then you realize how expensive it gets.

I’m right there with you on the mud, and I’m a little bit like Wildman, kind of stuck with mud for the last forty years. I grew up all over Texas, but mostly in the dry Texas hill country. In 1986 we bought a place near the Red River in Northeast Texas, where there is a much higher level of statistic rainfall.. I still have the place, but haven’t lived there since 2016. Since 1986 five pipelines were put across the place. The pipelines made incredible mud bogs that were sometimes hard to predict and we had cattle to take care of which meant that sometimes there was necessity for traversing it. My career was keeping me busy in those days so my son learned about mud and winching at a young age, mostly on small four wheelers.

I had one set of tires on my 4x4 pickup that were pretty good in the mud, but I can’t remember what they were. It’s amazing that I’ve come to a point where I four wheel for fun, but my four wheeling buddy and I try to avoid the mud.

All that said, I would like to find the tire that is the best combination for rocks and mud. The Micky Bajas on the Jeep now aren’t bad, but getting long in the tooth. Gonna lay out so much money for tires that I want to have the best chance of getting a set that is good for the purpose.

BTW, I am currently on 35 12.50-15. I like the wheels, but I would go to bead locks if someone convinced me that I need them.

Well we live in the PNW so mud is sort of part of the terrain... I don't LOVE it like I used to but I don't avoid it either. I'm really interested in seeing how well the M/T Baja Pro XS do over time.

Boggers are what sound COOL & feel COOL too on the street

Yea, I'm ok with it as long as it's not the deep stuff driving through and submerging axles all day. I'll dodge holes when I can and not venture out quite as much during some months.

I'm either going STT Pros, Baja Boss MT, or Kenda Klevers MT2 when the time comes.

Those are definitely Toyo MTs. Same tread they've had since their inception in 2003. The AT's have changed a few times over the years.

Yes Interco now sells them. In the picture of them is the link to them on their website.

Yes those were the 35x13.5x15 Toyo M/Ts ....
When I'd gone to Iraq I had 33" tires on my TJ and then when I came back wounded as soon as I could drive again the first thing I did was go get new tires. And this was March 2005 and I bought the first set of Toyo M/T's sold by Les Schwab in Snohomish.

April I was still on crutches & no weight bearing on my leg but was up in the hills on a snow run. Got off the mountain @ 3AM the next morning... But convinced about half the guys to buy Toyo M/T's due to how well they did in the snow. I was still sporting the 4 cyl & TeraLow 4:1 t-case.
