When connecting the lower intermediate steering shaft to the steering box I notice that when the bolt is tight on the clamp it still has a little play in it. I know it can't come off due to the shoulder that goes past the relief cut on the steering box input shaft but should it still have a bit of play? My old unit had a lot of play that I could never get to tighten up. The new one seems much tighter but still has some play.
The new shaft setup no longer has a "hitch" in the steering like it used to, which is the problem I was chasing. The steering would catch a bit sometimes at low speed when doing tight turns such as in a cul-de-sac.
