Lock N Roll Hitch Play normal?

Hey guys, hoping somebody also has experience with the lock and roll hitch. I’m just wondering if this vertical play at the hitch is normal. The bolts are tightened as much as they can go and there’s still some significant play up and down. Should there be some type of washer in there? Thanks

Is that a bolt and nut that goes straight through the parts? If so, shimming it with a washer should be acceptable.

Alternatively, perhaps replacing the bolt and nut with new Grade 8, Grade 9, or A572 cap screw might allow you to tighten it further. UNF in lieu of UNC makes it even easier, and also reduces the likelihood of the nut backing off.

If there's a press-in bearing in there, perhaps it popped out?

Yes just a nut and bolt, I was also thinking to just shim with a thick grade 8 washer
