Life on other planets

About intelligent life heres were I see the problem: We are trying to find answer to stuff that its outside of our domain. We are humans because this is whats the planet earth sculpted as time passed by. Any physical thing is bound to universal properties, however, they way they are arrange would be different, depending on how their surrounding are. What that means is that IF and thats a big IF there is intelligent life somewhere else, would we even be able to communicate? What if “they” don't have any senses like us(sigh, smell, etc)? What if they use other properties of matter to comunicate? They could be next us and we could not even noticed.

I’ve always thought that if there was species intelligent enough to travel the vast distances required to get here it wouldn’t be organic, rather some form of A.I. created long ago.

Or maybe they evolved beyond and organic body, not necesarily AI.

It’s not a matter of if there is life on other planets, there IS absolutely life on other planets.

The issue is that even if it is intelligent life, the only way for them to ever visit us would be light speed. If not, they would be traveling forever to get to earth, and by the time they arrived, we might not even exist anymore.

And there within lies one of the biggest problems with long distance space travel. Without light speed, we are really out of luck.

Me personally i would love to see the time were we make contact with another race, sadly i think were gonna have to keep looking unless a new species comes along and says hi, if they even speak.

Even though we cant travel, it can be a possibility that their biology is different and allows them to interact with matter in a different way than we are used too. It would be nice to know if Darwin’s Theory holds up in different places.

This is IMHO one of the biggest tragedies of human existence. You and I will never get to know what else is out there in the ever expanding universe. There are probably so many lifeforms and civilizations out there that we could only dream of, but we'll die never, ever knowing what else there is.

I often ponder about this sort of stuff while I'm falling asleep. I wish more than anything there was a way to travel billions of light years away, explore different worlds, etc. To me that would be the adventure of a lifetime.

I don’t doubt the existence of other life somewhere out in space. And seeing as we can barely see past our own solar system, I’m sure as we progress, we’ll “find” other forms of life.

I our arrogance, we think about how advanced we are. What if we were but infants, not knowing how to see great distances like 100’s of light years with the detail our satellites see earth now.
What if, instead of traveling at the speed of light, there was a way to fold or bend space/time to not only travel great distances, but also time?

I think our collective minds are theorizing great things, but I believe we are still very young in terms of the universe and have a long way to go before we could make a judgement call on life in the universe.

We should keep reaching for more knowledge and keep an open mind.

You can tell I watch too much Star Trek, huh?🤪

Even if we could travel at light speed, it would take 100,000 years just to get to the other side of the Milk Way at that speed. Just kinda puts things in perspective.

Somebody has been watching too many movies. Movies aren’t real guys. Wake up. The most interesting thing going on in the universe is Earth.

So, the evidence for absolute life on other planets is that there can’t be any evidence? 😉

Yes, you'd need something beyond light speed.

By the time you got to another planet (100,000 years later), chances are that civilization may not even be there anymore.

This is a Quotes from Sir Isaac Newton:

“ I do not know what I may appear to the world; but to myself I seem to have been only like a boy playing on the seashore, and diverting myself in now and then finding a smoother pebble or a prettier shell than ordinary, whilst the great ocean of truth lay all undiscovered before me.”

As for bending space, think of space and time as the same thing. Time is the measurement of the changes in a given space. It does contracts and expands depending on the mass of an object interacting with it. In order to bend spacetime you would need something extremely massive(remember mass is stored energy). With our current physics knowledge its imposible for us to create such a thing, but its theorized thats what happens when a star dies and black hole forms, it does not only bends it, it might break it. Whatever happens inside, its something massive that produces heat. It would be very very interesting to see if some other race manage to harness that lind of thing, I mean, if you cab harness that, i see no problem traveling faster than lightspeed using some unknown to us black hole mechanism.

Totally agree, we should and we have to keep inspiring our young ones to be more curious about this stuff in a serious way. We need to push more STEM studies, we have enough lawyers and businessman IMO.

What if we are the aliens and are not native to earth? Sent here in a type of lifeboat to seed the planet? Just like the movie Idiocracy we lost our way and regressed into what we are now over thousands of years. Boom, just knocked out the story of creation, and the reason we have huge brains and don't use them.
