I need help! I can't figure this out and it's driving me nuts. Is anyone good at diagnosing wiring issues?

1999 Wrangler TJ - Left turn signal blows fuse while driving (intermittent, turn works fine after starting jeep but fuse blows shortly after driving the jeep around for a minute.)

Recent work: Replaced oil hoses, replaced power steering pump, replaced radiator - turn signal issue started after work was done.

    • Left turn switch blows glovebox turn fuse. Right turn switch no problem. (rules out right turn wiring)
    • Hazard lights blow the fuse (rules out turn switch?)
    • Unplugged all left side bulbs - fuse still blowing (rules out lights?)
    • unplugged front wiring harness to lighting (left rear engine bay connector), fuse still blowing (rules out front harness?)
    • Replaced turn signal relay - fuse still blowing (rules out relay?)
    • Removed relay, put multimeter on relay connector ground and to connector wire going to harness (not power from fuse box). Turn signal left shows .045 ohms, turn signal right shows .045 ohms, kept turn signal left on while driving while watching for ohm drop. no drops, consistently same readings for both left and right turn signals.

What would you do from here?

Maybe unplug the multifunction switch, look up which wires feed power to the left turn signal and ohm and continuity check it.

FSM with wiring diagrams are in the resources section.

P S. Everything in this country is headed right anyways...

Yes, I'd like to isolate the rear harness first before digging into the switch.

here's the diagram from 8w - do you know where is the C322 connector located?

I’d change the switch and investigate the plug while you’re in there. Switches are easy to change and known to go bad, and you don’t want to melt that wiring.

I replaced my melted plug and the switch (failed internally) a while back and it solved my issues.

If that doesn’t fix it, then I’d spend the time looking through the other wiring.
