LED relay problem

Hi there,

Newbie to Jeep modifications on a 2001 TJ. I’m having trouble with my LED upgrades to rear tail lights and front turn signals. I upgraded these to LED lights. However I did not do the side turn signals but I probably should.

First problem is the front turn signals only work when I have at least the running lights or headlights on which I don’t like.

Second problem is the turbo flashing on the turn signals. I purchased the LED relay and doesn’t seem to be working properly. One signal either left or right will work at normal speed but the other side will cause both the rear lights to flash.

Do you think it’s because I still have the old stock side front signals when everything else is LED?

I am not an expert but i can tell you two stories that might help.

I put an led bulb in a light fixture in my house and then the only buld that would light was the led. Take it out and all work except the missing.

I put 2 led bulbs in the overhead courtesy lights and when i opened the door, they worked and the rear ones didn't. Took them out and rear came on.

To me, there is something that causes led ans incandescent bulbs not to play nice together.

The front turn signals screw everything up. Put them back to incandescent or rewire the side markers to no longer depend on the front turn signals for ground.
