Colorado Krew Hangout

Since I had the clutch issue. Decided to go ahead and install the rear Trac bar. And the rest of the 4" lift

Update on the Buena Vista area snow. We went out Sunday and did some playing. Grizzly Lake is open all the way with an avalanche that you can get around. Hancock lake and pass are still snowed in at about 11,700ft. Tincup will probably not open for about 3 to 4 weeks.

when installing the 4” lift and the 1.5” body lift. do i need to change the shock mounting area. no way can i install these with out hitting the spring perch.

and it looks like i still need to rotate the axle some more. the shock mounts look like they are point straight down.

Trim the coil bucket. A notch that will fit the shock body is generally all that is needed.

How does it feel to leave in Seattle now? I just want to take my top all the way off for more than a few hours at a time.
Its been non-stop. Staring out of my office window right now in Boulder and its currently raining. We've had 11" of moisture this year and IIRC average for Denver is 14"/year.

Hit the monthly average the first week of the month. Definitely not complaining about the moisture, just kinda annoying. And we're still at over 300% average snowpack. We saved 4 million gallons of water on the course last month. Not sure about this month so far.

so tool buying time. 😂

all i’ve got down here is a dremel. the big tools are still in Alaska

A dremel would take some time...

You're getting to the point where moving shock mounts make sense, especially with the savvy tuck. The good news is though that you can place your shock mounts wherever they make the most sense and get the most out of your travel.

Agree. I've been wanting to get the bike out but hate riding in the rain.

I have a project in Marble and need to plant willows. Flows are finally down but I think its because it froze up there last week. Im anticipating another surge of flows and my project schedule to go in the garbage

Every day when I get off work and am motivated to ride the rain hits. I don't mind the mud, but wet roots sketch me out and wet gear sucks.

If you don't mind me asking, what do you do for work?

Do you just live out here part time or are you still in the process of moving out here?

we bought in Bennett, figured we would be here about five years or so.

funny enough as wet as it is here. still too dry for the wife. so we are looking at heading back to either AK or the east coast.

with the tuck it looks like i need to move the mounts. i don’t know if i’ll even hit the trails while we live in CO

Work as an ecologist for a small consulting/design/build firm.

Its mostly federal 404 permitting, T&E species surveys and topographical surveying for river restoration projects, residential development projects, gravel mines and irrigation companies.

Fair enough. I don't blame her. I'd take Alaska over Eastern Colorado any day.

I was confused by why you'd be planting willows in Marble, but that makes sense now.

😅 I can see the confusion. It would be a pretty random act by someone.

We are working with a mine who diverted a creek on their property without the proper permits. The feds found out and are making the mine perform corrective mitigation activities with their now after-the-fact permit. One of the special conditions to their permit is that they need to plant native and woody vegetation along the creek corridor. By the time our construction ended last year, it was way too late in the season to do anything. So just a few weeks ago we harvested a bunch of willows near the site and are now ready to plant them. We just need flows to come down so we can get equipment near the creek and so the freshly planted willows don't wash away after planting.
