What’s everyone doing for Father’s Day? I’d like to run Middle St Vrain and Coney Flats but I can’t find any reliable sources if it will open Sunday, as well as I’m concerned about the water levels on Coney this early.

I do have confirmation that Sevenmile and Bald Mountian have been scouted and will open on Sunday so I’m leaning this way.

Anyone want to head up North or have any other plans for Sunday, Father’s Day? I’d like to get out.

If you're running MSV post it. Took dogs up to Cumberland/yankee area today and almost all snows gone up to tree line. Been trying to find someone to run Red Elephant, should be clear at least through Bill Moore

Looks like MSV is out, tentatively scheduled to open the weekend of the 21st.

7mile, Bald Mtn, Moody are all scheduled to open Sunday and Kelly is already open. Anyone want to hit any combination of those? I’m open to stuff further South as well, Around or North of 70 that is, no desire to go to the Springs and back in a day.

@Abendage just saw same about MSV. Just talked to a buddy we’re doing Red elephant Sunday if you want in. Trail head is up by Dumont/Idaho springs area. Might be a need to clear some sections of trail, plan on slow rolling

If my sliders from Flux were in I’d say for sure, but they’re a couple weeks out. Right now I just have the stock Rubi sliders. I’ll have to think on that one. I’ll let you know. Thanks for the invite!

There isn't anything too extreme on Red Elephant that you couldn't use your stock sliders for.

I talked with the wife and we’re in! By clearing sections of trail do you mean deadfall or snow? I have Stihl’s in both the electric and gas variety I can bring if deadfall. Usually carry the electric but if it’s more than 2 batteries worth I can bring the gasser as well. What time are you planning on being there?

You're probably just snow bashing this time of year, but it could mean some downed dead trees. The drifts across parts of the trail (especially in the shade) can get pretty substantial.

Sweet! Haven’t seen any reports for this year but last time I ran it this early lots of deadfall. I have a tiny little chainsaw and my buddy carrys a sawzall. Would like to be able to do miller loop at top if we can but good chance that will have snow. Won’t know until we get there. I’ll pm you my cell. It’s a fun trail, like Tworley said not to bad but we all have different comfort levels. Didn’t want to pressure ya. Have another buddy in a TJ coming too.

Comfort level I should be fine, in my TJ’s prior life i’ve run Indy, Pritchett, etc, but in the LJ it’s the not causing unnecessary damage because I don’t have the proper sliders yet that I’m trying to avoid. Looking at a bunch of pics and videos doesn’t look like there’s anything that some careful line choices won’t keep me out of the rockers.
