Lots of threads on Kilmat and similar products for sound deadening.

What about heat insulation?

Down here in the south it gets pretty hot in J-J-A .

I am considering Kilmat on the toeboards and tunnel as a heat shield.

I think I am going with Bedtred for the floor.

Does anyone have a better idea?

As far as sound, it's a Jeep, if I want quiet, I will sell the Jeep and buy a Caddy.

I used a DEI heat shield on the underside of my transmission tunnel and it helped a lot with the heat coming up from the floor. I still have factory carpeting, but will likely go bedrug when I get the chance. I'd imagine bedrug might be a bit more insulating than bedtread, although If I remember correctly, bedtred does have closed cell foam backing which will help a bit.

I probably wouldn't spend current pricing on DEI, and it seems to be a similar product to Kilmat, although I can't find the material that DEI uses. I'd highly recommend it for heat, it was a very noticeable difference. The bottom of the cupholders and the tunnel itself still get warm, but its worlds better than it was before. Doing the underside of the tunnel and a layer under the carpet might be the best option if you already have the interior out to do carpet/bedtread.

This is the specific product I used, It looks like you might be able to get it cheaper direct from DEI or one of their dealers

single best insulating/sound deadening thing I've done to my jeep is to install armorlite. it ain't cheap but holy fuck what a change.

A full Amorlite kit is $1024, but you get a free drain plug kit with it.

The Kilmat is currently in the lead.

I get that it's a big price but once you factor in all the labor hours you save in install time, it's definitely worth it. well, that's how I justified it anyway :ROFLMAO:

440 for the full bedrug kit plus the kilmat at whatever price, tools to lay the kilmat etc..
