I am sure the information is here somewhere, but I can't seem to cobble together the correct search terms to find the recommended grease for Johnny joints. Any help from those with experience?

Some use Red Line CV-2 grease with good results. Some that live in areas with a lot of clay have experienced a lot of squeaking and dried up grease when they disassemble the joints. The description of the Rock Jock grease says it’s a high moly petroleum based grease. Under the description for their Johnny Joints they say they require non-synthetic, hi-moly lube grease. However, the Red Line CV-2 is synthetic.
I just used some Valvoline NLGI No. 2 moly fortified synthetic wheel bearing grease in my front lowers today.

To clarify, the grease that RockJock sells as their own is just a Phillips high moly grease (I forget the specific name) with a RockJock paper label glued on it.
It’s not surprising that they are not manufacturing their own grease. The price was reasonable enough that I didn’t have the need to go any further in my search.
I figure that few have a bigger interest in Johnny Joints working to their full potential than RockJock. Good enough for them is good enough for me in my use case.
Lucas also has a black moly grease. Usually won't find it on the shelf at your auto parts store, but it can be ordered. It's called Heavy Duty Mining & Construction Grease.
