A fellow named Brent Stanton posted this to a FB TJ group that I frequent. It struck me as a bit of poetry in a forum that is usually about nuts, bolts and grease.“…Im languishing in the poetry and the music of the rain….”
One of the VERY BEST Things I LOVE about my Old ‘02 Jeep Wrangler…
….”DRIVING IN THE RAIN”.
There is an “Absolute Poetry” to the Sound of it!… yes the Jeep is louder. But that allows that beautiful sound of wet tires on the pavement and the wonderful whooshing splash sounds of going through rain puddles.
….but the the thing i love Best? …while sitting in the cozy interior, all warm and dry? Is that Sound!…
That Sound… that reminds me of Camping in Oregon. Yes!.. that Dappled “tatter” sound of Raindrops “Dancing” on the thin, tightly stretched vinyl/cloth Convertible Soft Top… That sound that Soothes the mind and soul, while everyone else is so stressed and growing more frustrated, at the traffic that surrounds them. …. Me? I'm languishing in the poetry and the music of the rain. Ya, I miss my “Oregon Sunshine”….
Santa Monica CA… ( we get maybe 4 days a Year like this!… )
I figured some of us could relate. I know I did...
