I was driving and then the car stalled out. At first it was only giving me p0340 and p0129. The check engine light turned off and was running fine then the next day I was going 30 and the car just shut off and is throwing p0129 p0700 p0562 p0340. When it would turn on the car would just shut right off. When I got it to actually run it would sputter run fine then sputter and cycle like that. The car also has some parasitic drain. I was wondering if anyone has an idea of what’s going on.

Unplug the camshaft position sensor and try to see if it will run with it unplugged. If it does, then the issue is related to that.

Note with the camshaft position sensor unplugged, it will run in limp mode, meaning power is limited, and RPMs are limited to 2200 or so. But it is driveable.

If it doesn't, given the wide variety of sensor issues reported on the second go-around, I would start to suspect the PCM power supply has failed.

Does this work on all years??? I’ll have to try on my 97, although I know bad wiring there will cause a no-start.

Not really sure. I know it works for 05-06. I think it’s also possible to do with the crankshaft sensor or the camshaft sensor, as long as either one of two sensors is plugged in and operational.

Definitely good to know if you ever get stranded and need to limp home.

Update the mechanic said that one of my vacuum lines had blown off. The other codes are gone too. After it’s fixed could there still be a problem?

The more I read the problems that the wranglerfix pcm addresses, the happier I get that I found an LJ with one already installed.

Mark is the man, by the way. All the praise of he and wranglerfix is well-deserved.

Unlikely that was the problem. A vacuum leak results in a high idle.

You still have an crappy PCM and a failure prone OPDA like any 05, 06 unless they have been replaced.
