I may revisit this...It designed as you would design an injection molded part...In the few years since I reverse engineered this piece, I've learned a bit more about 3d Printing and can probably make the snap tabs more robust and reduce the need for support. We'll see how ambitious I feel over the holidays.
Alright, I decided to go ahead and get a better scanner. I've got the Einstar scanner and the software seems lightyears better! So far the factory airbox is on my list. Also thinking about trying to scan the full dash and some spots in the tub and engine bay. We'll see how my laptop holds up to the load. I know my main desktop will chooch along just fine but its far from portable. This should be a fun tool! We're already looking at scanning the body and chassis on a couple different vehicles for building bumpers. I think this will make it leaps and bounds easier to do the cad for them.
Same one you purchased, after watching a bunch of reviews and seeing the workflow in the software I decided to pull the trigger on it. It also helps that I found a factory refurbished unit for $500 rather than the full price. That makes it much easier stomach the investment.
